21st birthday

I celebrated my 21st birthday working and going on adventure with my friends. My friends and I planned to meet as early as 6 a.m. so we can visit as many places as we can before the day ends. Unfortunately, I had a coverage at 9 a.m so we moved the time to push through our plan. Because it was my birthday, they were kind enough to wait for me at the venue where I had my coverage. Being the best boyfriend ever and the best squad ever, El and the rest of the group surprised me with flowers and cake.

Know Your City

My friend and I were searching for a place where we can pose for our #OOTD photo sesh around Mango Avenue and we passed by this place where old photos of Cebu years ago were framed. I forgot the name of the resto bar (my bad) but I'm pretty sure that they serve Tuslob-Buwa. These antique photos made me love and appreciate Cebu more because of its origin and history.

What is your dream? To travel the world. Everyone's dream is to travel the world. Why do we want to travel? Is it necessary? All I can say is yes it's necessary, traveling allows you to get to know yourself more, relax, see your life from the third perspective and step outside your own world. It helps you appreciate life more and the beauty of nature.

Day Trail in Mt. Naupa

Since last Monday was a holiday, my gang and I decided to go trekking in Mt. Naupa. It is located in Naga City, Cebu and ranks as 8th highest mountain in Central Visayas with a height of 584 meters above sea water. The place is a popular destination for mountaineers. Its beauty will put you in awe.

500 Pesos Sweet Escape

I know all of us are craving for adventures most especially this summer season but the problem is we don't have enough money for the travel expenses. Don't you worry girl because I feel you! That's why whenever I travel or go to an escapade, I research about the place and ask some friends who have been there, their itineraries and all. Since I am supporting myself financially (and emotionally) hahaha, I'm kinda tight with my budget, I always choose the place where I can spend less but with the best view and great experience. So I list down some places here in Cebu where you can have a sweet escape with 500 pesos budget. 

Wander in Boljoon

Boljoon pronounced as "Bol-ho-on" is a fifth income class in Municipality in the province of Cebu, it is 103 kilometers or about a three-hour bus ride from the city. Buses make regular trips to the town from the South Bus Terminal. Bus fares to Boljoon are P120 for regular trips and P128 for aircon buses. Travelers will pass by six towns and cities before reaching the beautiful Boljoon from Cebu City.

Island Vibes at Lunhaw Mountain Resort and Spa

So, I've been to Aloguinsan again for a work-related adventure. Let me share to you my wonderful experience there and some new things I've discovered in the place especially the resort where we stayed called Lunhaw Mountain Resort and Spa. Click here for the map. It was my first time in the resort but the very moment I saw the place, I fell in love with it. Everything is so boho <3

Keep Calm and Eat Gelato

 So once upon a boring day, after my job interview, my boho sister and I decided to go to cafes that we haven't been to. Our choices were: 1.) 10th Dove Street 2.) Gelatissimo Cafe 3.)CMYK

We went to CMYK first, unfortunately it was closed so we decided to go to 10th Dove Street but we did not know where it was located though we googled it LOL! So we went to Gelatissimo Cafe instead.

Amazing Aloguinsan 2: Bojo River

Beautiful. Magical. Enchanting. I don't know how to describe this place. Too beautiful and magical and enchanting to describe. I'm afraid that the term I might use to describe wont give justice on how amazing this cultural place is. 

We were hesitant at first if we will go there or not because the habal-habal driver warned us that the bus will arrive in the market where the bus dropped us off, at 3:00 p.m and there would be no other trip. So blessing in disguised happened, we missed the bus and we asked the driver if what we're gonna do for us to go home and he told us that there will be a bus to Cebu City in somewhere I forgot, I'm sorry at 5:30 p.m. Since it was 3:20 p.m we decided to go to Bojo River while waiting for the bus, so we did ♥

We walked for about 230 meters before we reached the beautiful river.  While walking we heard birds chirping and  the sounds of the crickets. It's kinda scary because it feels like there are fairies and dwarves.

A group of singers welcomed us with a cultural song. And I'm so careless that I was not able to take photos of them because I was too excited to have a river cruising. It was my first river cruising, btw so you cannot blame me ☺

You only need to pay Php 400.00 each to explore this river. Aside from river cruising, you'll also learn about the place - its history, myths, wildlife and the mangroves. The money that you pay for a tour around Bojo River goes to the local fishermen who maintain the place and serve as guides.

Our tour guide, told us about the story of Maria Tang-an, a fairy living there thousand years ago. She also mentioned that monkeys also lived there too, way back. Although it sounds impossible but the place and the atmosphere will prove their stories right. She also said that one of the tourists saw a dwarf looking at them.

Aside from river cruising, you can also stroll along a wooden boardwalk which leads to an uphill trail but we weren't able to enjoy the strolling activity since the wooden boardwalk was under construction when we went there.

You can actually swim around at the mouth of the river but we were not able to because after hearing the stories, I'm afraid to take a dip. Thinking I might step on a magical sea/river creature. Lol! #SorryNotSorry but that was what I felt. Since we were given 30 minutes to swim, we just asked our tour guide to tell us more stories.

 

The adventure was so priceless. ♥ We stayed in Aloguinsan for only 10 hours but we were able to enjoy the place and had the best time of our lives. 

TIPS:

1. Bring water. Bring water. Bring water.

2. Don't forget to apply sunscreen.

3. Early bird catches the worm as what they say.

4. Be spontaneous. Adventures are more fun if you don't plan everything.

5. Be friendly and vigilant at the same time.

6. Do not be maarti because duh? You won't enjoy your adventure if you're maarti.

Amazing Aloguinsan: Hermit's Cove, A Hidden Beauty

Since many of my friends were asking me about my trip in Aloguinsan, I'm gonna post it here. Including the expenses, the places we went to, how to get there and some "cowboy" tips to make most out of your trip without spending a lot. Fyi, we were able to enjoy the wonders of Aloguinsan: the Hermit's Cove and Bojo River for Php 1,000.00 per head. Amazing, right?☺ Before we went there, I did a research about the place and asked some of my friends who already went there for an itinerary and instructions on how to get there. 

Located in the western part of the Cebu, Aloguinsan is known for its alluring coastlines but are not usually overwhelmed with tourists unlike the known tourist spots here in our province. According to Wikipidea, Aloguinsan is a small town and fourth income class municipality in the province of Cebu, Philippines. By road it is 59 kilometres (37 mi) south-west of Cebu City. 

HOW TO GET THERE:

From South Bus Terminal ride a bus to Pinamungajan. The fare is Php 80.00-Php 100.00 (If you're a student or a senior citizen, make sure to bring your I.D with you so that you can avail the discount). You should go there earlier than 7:00 a.m because the bus to Pinamungajan usually board at 7 or 7:30 a.m. And btw, tell the bus driver or the driver's aide that you're heading to Hermit's Cove and they will drop you off at Pinamungajan Public Market.

From Pinamungajan  Public Market ride a habal-habal to Hermit's Cove. We paid Php 250.00 each for the habal-habal ride since he took us to Hermit's Cove to Bojo River then to Bus Station.

Stairway to heaven ♥ After 3 hours of bus ride and 25 minutes of habal habal ride, this is the view that will greet you. Ahhh heaven ♥

If you're not familiar with the place, you wouldn't believe that you're on your way to the beach because of its rocky and mountainous way.  We were just riding a habal-habal on our way to Hermit's Cove and we thought the habal-habal driver will bring us somewhere. Lol

We did not rent a cottage because we wont be using it anyway. We were planning to just put our things on the sand but a store owner offered us a table and she said it was for free, so we grabbed the opportunity because why not? And we gave her  Php 50.00 afterwards and we bought food in her sari-sari store☺

We were shooting our project for MC11 which is Film Making in Simala, Cebu. While they're busy shooting because our director and I agreed to take turns in taking videos, I asked our groupmate/ a close friend of mine Kristelle to take photos of me. I just wore tshirt from Abercrombie, DIY-ed shorts and my fave kicks from City Sneaks which I bought from Payless.
