I'm not a fashion blogger or fashion critique but here I am doing this blog post about fashion inspiration because I want to lol, the reason why I came up with this topic is I have a Facebook page: Chasing Happiness. The page contains a world of limitless possibilities - from fashion, beauty, music, food, travel, adventures to life, love, passion and inspirations. Its goal is to make an avenue for everyone to collaborate different ideas. Everyone is very much welcome to share their stories, adventures, fave food, music or anything they are passionate about. 

I've realized that girls talk a lot about fashion so I started "hunting" for "Fashion Inspirations". So starting today, I'll be posting All The Rage: Fashion Inspirations weekly.

Since Francine and I are boho/gypsy sisters and we both love accessories, we decided to make our own and share it to gypsy souls out there by selling our products online. Cebu’s annual festival, Sinulog, which honors the Sto. Niño, is one of the most anticipated festivals of the year. It is celebrated every third week of the month of January. This year it fell on January 18.

“Pit señor!” is a phrase Cebuanos proudly use to display their devotion during the festival. The phrase is a shortened version of “Sangpit sa Senor” meaning “to call, ask and plead to the king.” It is just one of the many ways by which festival goers celebrate their faith. From an early morning fluvial parade to an all-out celebration, the call of “pit señor!” can be heard.

Cebu Robotics Society seeks change the fun way

COMPUTER game addiction makes people lose interest in many activities, studying for instance. So, the Cebu Robotics Society (CRS) has hatched a plan to encourage students to go back to school. How? By making robots.

Gamers way back in their high school days, Donald Dungog and Jonathan Cartillo, founders of CRS, realized that playing computer games was a waste of time. So they thought: why not make change through innovations and inventions using their imagination, creativity and analytical skills, just like when playing computer games?

Last June 15, CRS in partnership with Marie Ernestine School and ITEX held a Sumobot Challenge at Parkmall Mandaue, in which participating teams were composed of parent and child tandems.

“As a father, I’ am so happy seeing these kids joining the competition with their fathers helping them building their SumoBot. We will make this event annually” said Dungog.

A Sumobot is a robot made from scratch, using kits or Lego components. The prefered materials are Lego Mindstorms sets, which are used in a competition called Robot-Sumo or Pepe sumo, a sport in which two robots attempt to push each other out of the arena, just like the sport of sumo.

Ten teams joined the competition at Park Mall. Each team was tasked to build a SumoBot in an hour. No robot was to go beyond the size limit of 25cm x 25cm x 25cm. The challenge was to push the opposing robot outside the playing area marked by a dark circle. Teams that were not ready to compete when their team was being called were disqualified.

Team number 10 – Aura Pepito, Elaise Suello and Trixie Amistad with their parents – won the competition.

AS THEY say, nothing can beat the classics. Who wouldn’t fall in love with the Beetle, bus andsquareback vintage cars? Just imagine driving around the city heading to somewhere nice, up for an adventure with those vintage cool cars like the Volkswagen.

In Cebu, Volkswagens, still turn heads, and many car enthusiasts have a soft spot for this brand known for its compact but sturdy cars. But apart from its storied past — the first models carry Ferdinand Porsche’s design — why is the love for the Volkswagen, which means “people’s car” in German, is as old as the brand itself?

“It’s easy to maintain, not expensive and is indeed a people’s car that everyone can relate to,” says Jonathan Polo, president of Volkswagen Club Sa Sugbo (VWCS), which joined the biggest auto show and club meet at SM City Cebu, Northwing Parking Area last Aug. 8.

The club showcased some of the members’ cars like Jonathan Polo’s VW Ratlook 1969, Dr. Henry Chua’s 1996 Volkswagen, Neil Sy’s 1967 Volkswagen and Basti Seno’s 1960 VW Transporter Bus.

A shared passion

During the auto show, Polo talked about how the club and its members’ shared passion for the Volkswagen goes a long way back.

Polo narrated that VWCS was founded by Atty. Aven Piramide in 1997 when the lawyer and fellow Volkswagen enthusiast friends found themselves talking at length about VW maintenance, restoration and sourcing of parts.

From then on, Piramide and his friends invited other VW enthusiasts to join them. Surprisingly, over 200 people attended the first gathering that was held in the defunct Padi’s Point in Ayala. Since then, the club held frequent meet ups.

A journey continues

To date, VWCS, which has 60 members under Polo’s leadership, holds activities and outreach programs such as feeding programs, medical missions for cancer patients, and tree planting, among others.

The group also celebrates VW Day every June and the Manunggal Run via the Transcentral Highway, an activity dedicated to former President Ramon Magsaysay, a VW lover who lost his life during a plane crash in the said mountain in Cebu.

VWCS holds monthly meeting every first Sunday of the month at Chicken and Beer to discuss its plans. Polo is also encouraging VW enthusiasts who are interested to join the club to check out their facebook page Volkswagen Club Sa Sugbu.

Well, Wattpad is a writing and reading community where anyone can post stories or poems online and read them either online or offline for free. It’s like a social networking site wherein readers and writers can interact in a comment box below the stories.

Miss Earth, Miss World, and Miss Universe are  the three largest beauty pageants in the world in terms of the number of national-level competitions to participate in the world finals and one of the most publicized beauty contests in the world. And it all promotes environmental awareness and other global issues. How about a pageant that promotes marine life awareness? Worry no more! The Miss Scuba International pageant was held for the very first time in 2011. There has been many a beauty pageant held in the past, many embracing great causes, however none yet have focused on our oceans. Life on Earth as we know it today began with our oceans. Thus, we decided that it is time that an event such as this is produced to celebrate, not only, the inner beauty and courage of today's modern women, but also to simultaneously advocate worldwide marine conservation.
The winning delegate of the Miss Scuba International competition will undertake a year of ocean conservation campaigns to educate and inspire the desire in all of us to do our best to safeguard our oceans. The pageant will also offer her a unique and comprehensive platform to launch her career and personal development.
Additionally, we also aim to promote safe diving practices through worldwide professional training organizations, and elevate international tourism and cultural appreciation. As people travel to far off destinations to dive, they also learn to appreciate the cultural diversity that makes our world such an interesting tapestry.

The Miss Scuba International Organization is founded by Mr Robert Lo who is also the proprietor of the Sipadan Mabul Resort (SMART) and Mabul Water Bungalows, and as such is a strong believer in sustainable development within the realms of our marine environment. He hopes that by sharing the beauty and wonders of the underwater world via beauty queens, it will enable more people to understand how fragile our oceans are and how much more we all need to play our individual little roles to make a big difference in protecting it.

Miss Scuba Philippines 2014 in partnership of SAV International, Pacific Cebu Resort and managed by Selrahco is looking for Filipinas aged 18-28 years old who are single and passionate in promoting scuba diving and marine conservation to represent the Philippines in Miss Scuba International in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia on September 26, 2014.

Applications from all interested ladies are now accepted for Miss Scuba Philippines 2014 until August 15. To join the pageant, contestants must have the following qualifications:

- Are between 18-28 years of age at the date of the International Pageant;

- Minimum of 5’4’ or 162cm in height (without heels)

- Are able to converse in basic English

- Able to swim and is a certified diver, at least until the first level (Open Water)

- Keen and motivated to promote the sport of Scuba Diving and Marine Conservation

- Good health; good moral character;

- Single; never been married & has never given birth

- Not under contract with a person, firm, pageant or corporation that would prevent her appearance or participation in the Miss Scuba International Pageant.The national finalists will be announced on August 21. The winner in the Philippine pageant to be held on September 26 will compete in the Miss Scuba International 2014 to be held in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia.

This is our society today. Teenage girls are forced to wear make ups because of the trend and peer pressure then later on they will be judged and will be called whores or sluts just because they wear make ups. Confusing right? Iam writing this because me too, has the same issue. My face is big plus my chubby cheeks, i cannot see clearly, my nose and lips sucks and everyday is a bad hair day. Everyday, i lived trying to make myself look pretty but i got tired forcing myself to look pretty then i've realized that my life doesnt end there and the key to live happily is to accept and be grateful for what you are born with .Here's for the girls and guys who are struggling just to be in, for the girls who are insecure because of our society.
